Poured at fridge temp. Pours a VERY thick black with almost no head. The nose is fantastic. Vanilla, chocolate, super smooth coffee, maple, brown sugar, and bourbon.
The taste follows the nose nicely. This is fantastic. Beautiful balance of maple syrup, bourbon, and chocolate. Getting some vanilla, toasted coconut, molasses, brown sugar, and a hint of red wine. The maple is definitely the main taste that punches home here. Super smooth and nicely integrated. It doesn't taste even close to 14% which is amazing.
The mouthfeel is thick and creamy, and the aftertaste is predominantly maple and vanilla.

A - Dark brown pour with dark brown lacing.
S - Brown sugar, Maple, and light Bourbon.
T - Coffee, brown sugar, Maple, Bourbon while finishing on the sweeter side.
M - Light syrupy body with warming on the way down. Leaves a sugary residue on the lips.
O - There is alcohol presence, but for as big as this beer is, the ABV is well subdued.

Pours a standard stout appearance, minimal head, no remaining lacing. Scents of coffee, maple, dark malt, and bourbon barrel. Maple is on the forefront of taste, coffee, dark malt, molasses, dark fruit, and bourbon barrel are all present as well. Medium to his bodied, slightly thick, subtle booze for a high ABV. Enjoyable.

Reviewed less than a week after bottle release. Poured at 64° into a Magnify snulip glass. It pours a dark walnut - nearly black. The medium-mocha-colored head fizzled away quickly (not surprising given the alcohol level). The nose is very aromatic with roasted malt, milk chocolate, fresh coffee, maple syrup, nuts, and soft but noticeable bourbon. Its taste is much more coffee-forward; strong and acidic. Beneath is earthy, nutty char, maple syrup, and a hint of tobacco. The Barleywine component comes through with notes of molasses and raisin and I can readily taste the barrel influence. While not overpowering it adds heat to the blend. The mouth feel is luxuriously viscous and creamy - almost chewy. The carbonation is lite and it drinks its full 14% ABV; it's definitely a slow sipper. Overall, as a blend of BA Imperial Stout and BA Barleywine, Saturday Cartoons is decadent and flavorful but borders on overpowering. I would pair it with sharp cheese.
