On tap at Smoke and Barrel.
Hoppy Wheat with Citra/Azacca
Appearance: Pours a completely hazed out yellow. 50% Wheat and high hopping rates doing their job here. Big, fluffy white head with great retention. Big lacing.
Smell: Love the aroma on this. A wave of tropical fruit, stone fruit, and citrus character on a soft bed of wheat. Yeast is throwing off big peachy esters with Citra and Azacca bringing their own bright tropical and citrus character.
Taste: Ridiculously flavorful given the ABV. Not quite as intense as the nose, but very good. A touch of pine sneaks in along with the big fruit characteristics of the nose. Juicy hop character that interacts exceptionally well with the yeast esters. Definitely not standard ale yeast fermenting this guy. Moderately bitter with the focus on hop flavor and aroma.
Feel: Feel on this is nailed. Crisp enough to make quick work of a pint, but with a fluffy creaminess that exceeds its sub 6% nature. Wheat plays well here. Medium bitterness with medium carbonation.
Overall: A sort of NE-wheat IPA? Very fun to drink

Light straw, opaque. Smells of wheaty bread sweetness and citrus. Phenomenal rich, smooth and creamy taste. A light, well put together and refreshing wheat pale ale. Will drink again.

Beautiful beer. Touch heavy on bittering hops. Would like either a little more juicy/tropical or a little breadier with more malt sweetness balancing the bitter. Still a solid pale ale and others may really enjoy it.
