Collaboration with Right Proper Brewing Company

This limited release Farmhouse Ale was brewed in collaboration with our good friends from Right Proper Brewing Company! The goal for this one was to mimic the qualities of a crisp white wine. The hop bill consists of Hallertau Blanc and Cascade. Malt bill features pilsner malt and flaked oats. The resulting beer displays flavors and aromas of green apple, pear and citrus fruit accompanied by a light body and dry finish.

I got a late start on NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I promised that NBS (Week 775) & now, Week 776, would be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride! That last one kind of put me off of Maryland, at least for the moment, so it's time to visit some of the other victims, I mean, honorees. It seems that MaryCANd is inescapable at this point so I am CANtinuing with a beer from my local, in-person beer trader, @tone77 who dropped this CAN off for me a while back.

From the CAN: "Farmhouse Ale"; "Brewed & CANned … in collaboration with Right Proper Brewing Co."

I did some in-CAN agitation with this one before Crack!ing open the vent to ensure that any flocculate was back in suspension. Once CANpleted, I CANtinued with a heavy-handed C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with very good retention. Color was a cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was lightly funky, lightly fruity, but kind of undefined due to its lack of Ooomph! Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium, rather soft in the mouth & on the tongue. The taste had a lightly hoppy vinousness with just a hint of funk. What was I drinking? I am appreciative of/for the Notes, and while they might have achieved the vinousness that they were going for, it was not really my idea of a Saison. Yes, there was a light peppery funkiness, but it lacked depth and presence. I also got grapefruit and lemon, but it all just seemed rather light. Finish was semi-dry. It was drinkable, but it just did not really fit the style. YMMV.

I didn't add this beer, but I will be the first to review it. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of yeast, some spices. Taste is yeast, spices, hops are present, a touch of lemons, dry at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
