Medium bodied beer with a complex structure, subtly balanced between bitterness and malty flavors.

If this is a Flanders Red, it is not one I recognize. But I'm also not sure of an alternative styling. UnTappd styled it as an American Red. But IMHO, it lacks the hops. Personally, I thought it was malty like a biere de garde.
Bought from Sydney's Oak Barrel. My first from La Parisienne, went on their website and it is beautifully constructed. But it is in French only, so gives me no easily understandable clues about them or the styling of La Rousse. Not quite ten years old, they have 44 beers listed on UnTappd and some 21k Uniques. Not understanding this beer, I comment not further other than to say La Parisienne has le esprit. For ambition in trying to convert Parisians from wine, I give BLP Good Overall Hugs.
La Rousse Looks unappetizing, a weak foam. Smells are mostly malt. Tastes are balanced, but also of average character. Mouth-feel is flat. I can't imagine trying any more of their offerings.

Murky reddish brown body, thick white collar. Aromas of amber malts with earthy tones underneath, red wine vinegar, and a whisper dried cherry skins. Taste is mostly malt with mild toasty and dark fruity accents, maybe a hint of vinous vinegar, but it really is faint. Feel is wet and malty, not much else, thinner. A Flanders red in name only

0.33cl bottle served, unexpectedly, in a 25cl Brooklyn lager thick wall glass. Date stamp on back of label: 455 27.04.25. Newer label vs what's here on the site.
Appearance: Amber, mostly clear with a tiny bit of haze. Thin white head with some persistent lacing.
Smell: Lightly hopped, with a hint of toasted malt.
Taste: This is definitely not a Flanders Red Ale, its a French take on an APA or American amber so I'm rating it as such. Nice balance of toasted malt and noble hops with a hint of cascade hops.
Mouthfeel: Just right carbonation, smooth, a little sticky on the teeth.
Overall / Drinkability: Went well a salmon Caesar salad, and is an interesting take on an APA. Wouldn't mind having another.

Gently flying amongst the trees, there is the ability to feel serene. Floating like a leaf, it is a delight to see. Once, only just one time does a leaf have that float; to look at the sky before it hits the forest floor. Think about that; you only have one kiss, one thought, one breath… before you lie on the floor, eventually to be trampled on. This beer is that floating kiss, that floating thought, and that floating breath.

330 ml bottle, batch #248, as La Parisienne Rousse, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Moderately hazy reddish brown colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of red wine vinegar, malts and oak. Slightly sour flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, a hint of lemon.
