Pours a cloudy, but not really opaque dirty orange color. Mildly effervescent. Initially there is a huge billowing white head. If you aren't careful pouring this, it will spill over the glass ... I was not careful on the first pour ... The head dissipates pretty steadily until just a thin layer of velvety white foam remains on top of the beer. The effervescence sustains a residual layer of foam on top of the beer. A thick coating of foam serves as lacing on the glass. Aroma has notes of lemon zest, lemon rind, grain, a bit of generic funk and a light lemon grass earthiness with a touch of wet leather.
Taste has notes of grain, funk, wet leather, tart lemons, lemon grass and some spicy yeast. The lemon is far more complimentary in the profile that I expected - on the nose they really were showcased - in the flavor profile they are more of a complimentary aspect to the funky saison. Kind of an abrupt finish that has a touch of sweetness to it. I actually like that sweetness as it compliments the lemons and balances that funkiness a bit. Feel is very light and airy. This is highly carbonated - resulting in a very prickly mouthfeel.
Overall its a really nice saison - Im thoroughly enjoying this.

750 ml poured into a tulip
A- A slightly hazy golden copper with a three finger white head
S- Sour, lemons, oak, hints of wheat, barnyard funk.
T- Lemons, lemon juice, tart, wheat, hints of pear, some oak, nice barnyard funk.
M- Smooth, medium body.
O- A very interesting Saison inspired beer. Lemons make this sour and almost gueuze like and the funk reminds me a lot of Saison DuPont.
