Savage is a 2.7% Table Beer fermented in wine barrels. This is our first 100% Brett fermented beer we've released. It was fermented with a blend of two different Brett strains. The end result is an amazing interpretation of the style. Very funky aromatics! Vinous, barnyard/horse blanket(in a good way!), bright citrus, with a hint of tannins from the oak. Extremely light, effervescent(higher on the carbonation), and incredibly refreshing.

Pours a light straw color with thin white head on tap at the brewery. Aroma of lemon, white grape, hay/straw, light oak, light tropical fruit, light earthy funk. Flavor follows and is actually plentiful considering 2.7% abv. Has a crisp vinous character with slight white pepper and herbal/floral hops. Slight earthy funk is there but not strong as in most 100% brett beers (no sacchromyces). The feel is light and crisp with sparkling carbonation. Overall, without knowing, I would guess this beer was in the 4-4.5 abv range, not due to alcohol, but due to flavor and feel. Nice change of pace in the tasting room.. can't wait for more barrel fermented saisons from The Veil!

Poured on tap at the brewery, the beer is a hazy, golden-yellow color, with a foamy, clingy, white head. Aromas of herbs and dried grass, earthy funk and horse blanket, and subtle citrus. Flavors are spice and herb forward, heavy on pepper, oregano, clove, nutmeg, and lemon grass, with a subtle sour and funk follow. Some bread notes in the backbone, with hints of citrus and floral hops throughout. Light, effervesced, and dry body, with a solid herbal lingering aftertaste. Dry, crisp finish. Refreshing beer.
