The beer pours very little head. Beer is a dark chocolate black with some dark brown head around the inside of the glass. The texture is a nice chocolate syrup like slickness.
The smell is good. The sweet and bitter dark chocolate and cocoa notes are right upfront of everything followed by and completed with a sugary marshmallow that gives way to a slightly hot bourbon note.

The taste is similar in terms of notes but not appearance. The bourbon comes right upfront with the chocolate and cocoa notes following it quickly. The marshmallow comes out more in the aftertaste along a slight alcohol note.
The feel is good. It’s a heavy bodied beer but milky smooth with a slight sticky finish. The bourbon runs a bit hot though.
Overall, a really good beer and one of their best even if it is a bit boozy. Though while it’s good, it’s a good treat to have if you come across it.

Thanks Sam. This reminds me of a good Modern Times pastry stout.

This pours thick and sludgy, ominously so. The nose is sweet, underattenuated pastry stout with chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and more vanilla. Chocolate ganache, cream and mild licorice and anise notes are present. The palate is similar. Rich, decadent, sweet, with licorice and anise attempting to but failing at tempering the sweetness. Chocolate syrup, chocolate ganache, gobs of vanilla and more syrup. Rich, full, sticky on the palate and sweet on the finish. Good for the style.

Beer #4,000, and what a beer it is. Pours like black syrup, coating the glass. Smells like vanilla, maple marshmallows with a touch of booze heat if you get your nose too far into the glass. Taste is rich and sweet, with a ton of marshmallow and vanilla. Thick, rich and smooth. A brilliant, masterpiece of a beer!!
