Picked this up two summers ago when I was in Richmond, having had a chance to sample this on tap first. I enjoyed it then and even after all of this time, I enjoyed this now as this was one of the more interesting beers that I've had in quite some time. Sure, it's a Leipzig Gose which means that it won't bowl anyone over, but I enjoyed this lighter, fruitier offering during a windy winter's night such as tonight!
The writing on the can was illegible but that was about the only aspect of this beer that I would have changed. Loved the deep, berry hue of this beer, and the offsetting pink raspberry head that was quite frothy. A few large, dark bits of sediment floated in the liquid as the lacing left behind was very sparse and quickly slid down the side of my pint glass. Blackberry and boysenberry were in the nose with some fruit patch and earthiness in the mix as well. Berry juice filled my palate as this was not tart and didn't have a lot of salt or a sweet and sour feel to it. Low in acid, low in carbonation, and in acetate, this felt like juice that was slightly fermented and let out, in order to get a bit rustic!
The lack of overt booze only reinforced the notion that this didn't feel like beer, even if it technically was. This almost felt like a Radler because of how light and enjoyable it was, without feeling too bubbly or artificial. I enjoyed this and how natural it felt as it wasn't close to being overdone. Would easily get it again for the warmer months!

The beer pours a nice white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a cloudy and opaque deep berry purple that looks extremely juicy and inviting.
The smell is very fruity and sweet. The black berry sweetness takes over the aroma and there isn't much tartness to it but it smells absolutely delicious.
The taste is much better. It still has a dominant blackberry note but the apricot tartness comes out underneath and in the finish.
The feel is pretty good. It has a light body but with a good texture of a fairly good puree. There is a nice carbonated bite to it.
Overall, this is a pretty good gose even if it isn't one of the more complex ones.
