Aged in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel that was hand-selected and given to us. We loaded the barrel with an absurd amount of Tahitian vanilla beans, topped it with Sleeping Forever, and let it rest for a year.

Black as night, and oily thick. A thin, dark brown head recedes quickly to a collar.

The aroma explodes out of the glass with boatloads of vanilla! There's other things going on here including fudge, molasses, bourbon and oak, and hints of dark fruit, but honestly this is pretty much dominated by vanilla! Despite being perhaps "one-note", it's as close to perfect on that one note as it could be!

The flavor is more of the same, but with perhaps a bit more depth. Bourbon soaked marshmallow fluff, fudgy chocolate, rich oak, and more (I wasn't able to write this until the day after my draft pour, but I'll update with more specifics when I open my bottle). Truly impressive and delightful to drink! Can hardly tell this is a 13% beer!

The mouth feel is unbelievably thick and viscous, leaving a huge, oily coating on your whole palate after you swallow. No boozy sharpness, just nice, full, round, pillowy goodness!

The brewer(s) set out to create the ultimate vanilla experience with this bold, barrel aged imperial stout, and I have to say they hit the nail on the head. Could it be considered a bit one-note? Sure, but that's the note they were going for, and so it's hard to find a fault here!

This was the one, hands down. Best vanilla stout I have ever had, far and away. Love SF base stout but was skeptical that this could be too much vanilla. It was not--- it was absolutely done to perfection. Only 175 bottles means I'll probably never get another one, but so glad big cousin Viking shared it with me!!!!!

Damn. This features a shit ton of rich nilla...almost like drinking homemade pudding. It's more s'mores-like than some outwardly s'mores beers. It's a total marshmallow bomb with a sticky viscosity and a chocolate underbody. It's overly decadent and as such not my favorite SF, but still delicious.
