Canned on 5/19/20
Pours a turbid golden mango-orange body topped with a finger and a half of fluffy, soapy white foam; decent head retention leaves a slight frothy cap and collar alongside a very sparse spread of spotty lacing.
Aroma opens with raw hop resin into fresh dry grass and hop candy, with an underlying tropical zest building into mango nectar and pineapple across the bouquet; the back end revisits tones of resinous grass for a mild earthy intensity.
Taste shows a harmony of citric orange and earthy peach upfront, phasing into touches of sweeter guava through the mid-palate; lemon acidity is introduced on the back end alongside a coarse touch of hop burn on the finish, with mushy papaya lingering faintly in the background.
Mouthfeel features a weighty medium body and a cover moderate carbonation fluffing consistently along the palate; opening fairly slick and developing a bitter edge along the mid-palate, a soft, juicy touch rounds into the back end with a slight raw hop grit through the finish.
A very standard overall IPA with some nice touches of variety and cohesive feel bringing its better aspects together; while it does lack certain refinement and never quite finds its footing from a flavor profile standpoint, it remains a pleasant enough NEIPA, bolstered especially with a solid touch of bitterness.
