One Thousand Years was the 1000th batch of beer ever brewed at The Veil back in early 2019. The recipe is an amped-up recipe inspired equally by Pallbearer, Circle of Wolves, Sleeping Forever, and one of our favorite Imperial Stout collaborations. It spent 12 months in Laird's Apple Brandy barrels and then another 12 months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. It’s a very special beer for us that celebrates a major milestone for us as a brewery. Deep impressions of chocolate-covered Cognac cherries, creamy fudge, Hostess cakes, and chocolate graham crackers.

The beers pours alight dark brown head that dissipates very quickly while the beer itself is a dark chocolate brown with a syrup like texture to it. There is no head left on the surface.

The smell is absolutely delicious. The primary notes in the beginning are the various spirits the beer was aged in: apple brandy with some light bourbon before being overwhelmed with cognac. The chocolate also comes out and is very sweet as a result. It has a great mix of The cherry notes are present through the whole thing but really come out in the finish.

The taste is also absolutely delicious. The cherry and cognac come out front for a sweet beginning and is immediately followed by some chocolate and vanilla notes with a bit of bourbon. The beer finishes with a chocolate and vanilla note.

The beer's texture is good. It has a heavy and viscous body similar to chocolate syrup. There is no carbonation and finishes very sticky.

Overall, this a very delicious and indulgent beer worth getting and drinking since it is indulgence personified.
