The beer pours very little head and what head does form is a dark brown color that is very bubbly. The beer itself is a dark chocolate dark brown that looks like it's black. The texture is so thick that it looks like liquid syrup.
The smell is absolutely wonderful. It has a strong honey note upfront and mixed with a good chocolate note. The bourbon is at the edges.
The taste is nothing short of divine. It has a variety of sweet flavors that mix well with each other. The notes that come out the most are the macadamia nuts and the honey while the chocolate notes support those two notes. The bourbon comes out in the finish but isn't noticeable otherwise.
The feel is very good. It has absolutely no carbonation while the body is heavy, thick, and slightly viscous. It's like drinking honey.
Overall, this variant is a fairly sweet and indulgent beer. It has most certainly aged very well despite being in less than ideal conditions.
