Poured from a 500ml bottle, black under a half-inch thick mocha head which fades to the rim and leaves spotty lace. Aroma is red wine, oak tannins, mild yeast, herbal and grainy. Flavor is malty, roasty, earthy, tannic, faint coffee and smoke, chocolate and spices. Medium body and semi-moderate carbonation. Finishes tannic and roasty. Overall, not well integrated using red wine barrel and saison yeast. Not a traditional farmhouse, perhaps more of a Flanders red style. ABV well hidden, but a creeper.
