Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $6.29 (10 pct. off $6.99 because of a mixed 6-pack)
From: San Diego Wine & Beer Company in Miramar (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 15, 2021
Consumed: Jan. 22, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed this and five other cans on recent trip to San Diego Wine & Beer Company after picking up some other stuff at Burgeon. Originally picked this up for Chad but decided that since it wasn’t a San Diego beer that I would save it for myself. Untappd description was “We took Constant Evolution, our Citra NE IPA and made it bigger....” Sounded like it was 100 percent Citra hops.
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Citra, grapefruit, body odor, lime, lemon, soap and coconut. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Citra, grapefruit, lime, lemon, soap, pine forest, coconut and hints of body odor. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)
I think I underrated this overall, but outstanding at least. (Overall - 4.00)
