Thank you Ryan for this can. I have never heard ofthis brewery, so I'm going into this with no bias.
Pint can - dates 07/26/19 - poured into a white wine stem at 44F.
Pours an ultra-hazy, deep sunglow oramge colour, short, foamy ivory head, which recedes to a film and collar, leaving a little bit of lacing behind.
Nose: Sweet, juicy aromas of pineapple, ripe peach, apricot, strawberry, blueberry, melon, passionfruit, subtle fragrant grass, and a hint of peppery spice, all atop a clean, sweet smelling grainy malt backbone. I detect hints of Mosaic, a kiss of Simcoe, maybe Citra, and perhaps a touch of Motueka, but it's so well meshed in, that it's hard to decipher specific hops in this one. A very pleasing aroma, though something tells me this is one where the nose and flavour won't match up. Let's see.
Palate: The beer greets the palate with sweet mango, tangerine, ripe melon, concord grape, sweet berries, apricot, peach, papaya, and guava. The fruity expressions are unbelievably succulent, and are gently sweetened by an incredibly clean pale malt base. The level of sweetness is nearly perfect, and allows for the perfext shift from subtle sweetness to crisp dryness, as thw finish brings a touch of pithy grapefruit, and just the slightest bit of earthiness.
Mouthfeel/Body: The feel of this beer is a major strong point for it. It's certainly medium-bodied, but it's just amazingly crisp and drinkable, with absolutely no sacrifices. It's saturated with flavour, and the body has texture, but the specific grain bill just keeps it incredibly light on its toes, allowing it to drink almost like juice. Effervescence is lively and firm, and the dry finish provides the perfect sense of closure. It has the body of a 6.4% beer, and the flavour 8.4%. Not a bad choice for a hot summer day.
Overall: I think it's very important to try local beers from all around the world, even from small breweries you may have never heard of. Every now and then, you'll discover something you thoroughly enjoy. Maybe even a gem. This is really a great hoppy beer out of a PA brewery I had never heard of until now. I am glad I got the opportunity to try it.
