I requested BA to change this style to a NE IPA.
In that style: cloudy enough, tropical fruity aromas, controlled by bitterness at 50 IBU, finishes refreshing and a bit dry.
I had a bomber of Raising Haze with Indian food. Only an OK pairing, as fruity is better than bitter when trying to complement Indian spices.
My first from Off The Rail. Like many Vancouver brewers, I'd like to visit their taproom (and live here, too!) In lieu of that dream, I went on their website and see that the founder/owner started in brewing by growing organic hops and selling them to other crafters. Then I read through their beers; noticing that the labels are middle-of-the-road and artwork and beer names all play on BC themes... probably the result of Off The Rail's owner playing a supportive role to the industry. I've been here only three days, but see Off The Rail as a microcosm for very, very vibrant crafting in this exquisite metro.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. 50 IBU A North/East Hazy IPA
A: Pours a golden amber with a huge thick white lasting head with lots of lacing. Just off clear.
S: A mild spicy hop nose.
T: Spice notes with bitter hops.
F: Medium body good balance with a pretty clean finish.
O: Well very subdued for a North East hazy IPA good but more of a BC west coast style to me. Very drinkable.
