In the early 20th Century, a blight attacked the native Chestnut tree. By 1950, over 90% of the American Chestnuts in the Eastern US were dead. This is known as one of the worst natural botanical disasters in recorded history. The many dead trees were often referred to as "Ghosts in the Woods." Please enjoy this rustic brown saison brewed with over 20 lbs of local chestnuts in honor of those majestic trees that have gone before us.
