First had at Tobermory Brewing, Tobermory, Ontario, Canada, on draft into 18-oz. pilstulpe. This beer is not polished, but it is well-balanced between the sweet fruit, spicy wheat backbone, and finishing tart juice bite.

Another review made during the summer up at the trailer where I had no inet. Reviewed from a howler, picked up at at the brewery.

Appearance: A cloudy, reddish orange body didn't allow to see the carbonation in the body, as expected for a Wheat beer. A thumb of head was respectable, the lack of lacing and retention though was not.

Smell: As advertised (which I should probably clarify the name is Sailor's Delight - Raspbery Wheat) as we are treated to raspberry with a solid dose of wheat malt and a slight citrus undertone. Warming didn't really improve things on this solid profile.

Taste: Sweet mild wheat malt with a citrus note starts us off before handing it over to the raspberries to take over and ending with the barest sweep of earthy hops.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation helps out the entire beer here, and a nice raspberry aftertaste is present. The transitioning is decent, but I was left wishing it had a bit more punch to it.

Drinkability: Pushing the limits of light body, but refreshing, crisp, flavourful and easy to drink.

Final Thoughts: This is an ideal summer drinker if you want some fruity that drinks more like a milder cocktail then a beer, but during the summer, I don't really mind that at all. Side note, I think the name is based on an old rhyme that goes "Red sky night, sailor's delight. Red Sky morning, sailors warning." which is a nice touch from the nautical town of Tobermory.
