473 mL can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours pale yellow with little yeasties floating about. It is topped with a fleeting beige head.
It has a sweet watermelon smell. Almost like a watermelon soda aroma.
Sweet, artificial watermelon flavor. Base beer is barely perceptible.
Medium bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel
It is easy drinking and refreshing on this National Watermelon Day.

Mmm. I love watermelon. This beer offers up a passing salute to the melon, but still does a better job than other watermelon based brews I've had. Pale yellow under a short head, no meaningful lace. Sweet and juicy on the nose, the aforementioned watermelon and some apple happening. Noticeably watermelon to taste which is a bit of a feat as watermelon is not a flavour that stands up well in any kind of mixture. Too delicate or subtle for that.
Drinkable summertime stuff. Part of a line of Waterloo brews that pair up syrup or juice with an average bulk beer. Line yourself up a bunch of them and have yourself a sugary, juicy tasting party. This one is not so sweet as some of the others.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Feb 3 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a pale straw yellow colour, lightly hazed with specks of sandy sediment; situated atop is more than one finger of foamy, frothy white head that fizzles off within two minutes or so. A thin collar remains, alongside a patchy layer of film and some sparse lacing - looks like a light lager to me. It smells mainly of watermelon candy and apple juice, with hints of sugar and a touch of graininess; kind of bland to be honest, and the melon doesn't come off as genuine.
It's not bad - you can taste the watermelon flavour right off the bat, but it's not necessarily overpowering. There's really not a whole lot else beyond that... I'm getting a hint of apple juice sugariness and some graininess at the finish and into the aftertaste, which has just a touch of melon rind and melon flesh juiciness. Light in body, with moderately assertive carbonation that prickles the palate continuously with each sip, scrubbing the tongue and resulting in a crisp, somewhat frothy texture. Seems high in terms of drinkability, as it's not too sweet, but I feel like I'd get tired of the watermelon flavouring rather quickly.
Final Grade: 3.37, a B-. Waterloo's Watermelon Radler delivers pretty much exactly what it says on the tin, so in that sense it's a successful product. A great radler or fruit beer, however... not so much. I'm sure this'd work fine as a light, slightly fruity thirst-quencher if you're labouring in the back yard all day. Not my favourite of Waterloo's various radler-like beverages, but then again, I'm not real big on watermelon flavoured anything, as it either ends up tasting too sweet or kinda fake, at least to me.

Pours a pale straw colour with a very thick but loose head, no pink in the appearance at all. Watermelon and grains on the nose. The taste is a mixture between a slight hint of watermelon juice and a slight hint of beer. It’s ok
