Tallboy from the LCBO; coded Mar 13 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear purplish-red colour, capped with an inch of foamy, soapy, pale pink-tinted head that wilts gradually over the next several minutes' time. A tight ring of lace sticks to the glass, with a decent collar of creamy froth remaining in place - looks like a berry beer, and smells like one too. Blueberry and raspberry are well-represented, with significant notes of sugary apple juice, strawberry Kool-Aid and something vegetal.
A mediocre radler. The blueberry and raspberry flavours dominate, along with a persistent, sugary sweetness that reminds me of watermelon juice from concentrate. Finishes with more of the same, then a hint of blackberry and blueberry skin in the aftertaste. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation and a frothy, airy moutheel that I found pleasing. While I'm sure I've had more saccharine radlers/berry beers, this one is still too sugary for me to find refreshing. I finished my glass quickly, but it's not a brew I'd want to drink one after another.
Final Grade: 3.11, a C+. Waterloo has seen many radlers come and go over the years, but I think Field Berry is one that should probably just go - it looks great in the glass, but the beauty is utterly skin-deep. Radlers are supposed to be thirst-quenching, and this just isn't. Recommended to blueberry beer-lovers, as that particular flavour was the only one I felt came across well here. Their raspberry radler is a better choice for fans of that fruit, and I'd take most of their other radlers (e.g. pineapple, grapefruit, cherry, etc.) over this disappointing effort.

Another in Waterloo's procession of sugary, unremarkable brews. Just syrup in a very basic brew, minimum effort applied. Not awful, but not something to seek out. The mixed berry approach usually annoys me because you often enough end up drinking something that tastes like vaguely beery Hawaiian Punch. That's the case here. Not in the same league as a proper radler.

Pours a purple colour with a pink loose head. Mixed berry on the nose. The taste is predominantly blueberry with tart raspberries in the background, not too much blackberry. Fizzy and light on the mouthfeel. A nice summer quencher
