A tropical symphony in a can. With a refreshing light malt character and just a whisper of subtle hop bitterness, each sip is a perfectly balanced escape to sun-soaked paradise. Made with a blend of a crisp lager beer and real fruit juice, creating a refreshing experience that’s both sweet and tart.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Feb 2 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy yellow colour, briefly capped with an inch of loose, soapy white head that fizzles off within a minute or so, leaving nothing behind besides a barren surface. It smells mostly like passion fruit nectar, though the mango is also noticeable; other than that, maybe a few hints of grape juice and Asian pear? I actually like it, even though there's nothing beer-like here.
I'm slightly less enamoured with the flavour profile, but overall it's still pretty good - and perhaps more importantly, it's not nearly as sweet as expected. Mango flavours come through initially, with suggestions of white grape, Honeycrisp apples and Asian pear. Passion fruit asserts itself on the back end, continuing into the aftertaste before fading. Light bodied, with a watery mouthfeel punctuated by a moderate spritz of carbonation. Sure, I could enjoy a couple of these on the patio on a hot summer evening.
Final Grade: 3.62, a B grade. I've had plenty of experience with Waterloo's radlers: some of 'em are lame, but some are better than average, and I think Mango Passionfruit Radler might be one of the best blends they've come up with so far. I am relatively neutral towards both of these fruits, i.e. I neither love nor dislike them, but Waterloo did a pretty good job of juggling two very sweet ingredients here. It's sugary, as you'd expect from a radler, but not over-sweetened, and actually pretty darn refreshing I think. I'd drink this again, and would recommend it to passion fruit lovers in particular.
