a cool raspberry edition of their very good base cream ale. the ladies loved this one, and i liked it a lot too, although there is a ton of raspberry on it, especially in the nose, and it adds more sweetness than it needs, which undoes some of the refreshment i valued so highly in the base beer. pink and a little hazy, still heady, and enticing looking. the aroma is sweet preserved raspberry jam, not all the way authentic to raw fruit, but quality jam, not a syrup or anything, its mouthwatering as there is a little tartness in it too. the flavor of the regular cream ale is so light that the beer can hardly support this much fruit and still taste like beer before juice, which is generally a negative for me, but this is a really good one, the fruit tastes fantastic, and it doesnt linger as long in the finish as it seems like it could. sort of a kool aid meets beer thing, but really drinkable still, and somewhat better than anticipated. we had a great time in this place, and the diversity of their beer menu allowed us to spend a super fun afternoon in here trying all kinds of flavors. i prefer the original, but this fruited version is also very good.
