Poured from a 2015 corked bottle into a tulip glass.

It is a slightly cloudy, deep gold. It has a slightly fizzy, thin, white soapy head that vanishes very quickly.

It smells a little like a cross between a white wine and apple cider to me. It is slightly sour, and slightly funky/yeasty. Some green grapes, apples, vinegar, and a hint of spice.

It is tart up front with some yeast, apple cider vinegar, grapes, and lemon. Then it transitions to woody and grains. I get a lot more rye spice from the flavor, but it still isn't real strong even though the malt base itself is. A significant amount of wood flavor too. I saw it mentioned cedar. I would not be able to pin point that, but I do notice that it is a different, more unique taste. I love the lingering aftertaste. A very deep, rich rye malt.

It is a little prickly initially, and then it has pretty smooth and non carbonated feel overall with a crisp dry finish.

Bottled August 2015.

Pours a hazy pale orange with a fine layer of foam.

Smells of light pitted fruit, tart, woody, dry, aroma of rye.

Taste? Maybe the best Berliner Weisse I've ever tasted. Nice tartness, very fruity in a light pitted fruit way. Woody and dry from the rye malt.

Medium bodied, this is so tasty at the near 5 year mark.

Way to go Schell!!

Bottled in August 2015, consumed April 7, 2018.

This beer pours a clear, light amber color. The head is white, but doesn't last very long. Minimal lacing on the glass.
The nose is slight. There's a hint of tartness to this beer.
Taste - slightly tart on the backside. Up front is slightly sweet. The flavors have mellowed with age, but there's a lot there still.
Feel is lighter bodied, but expected with this style. Nice feel on the back of my throat.
Very easy drinking, and pleasing beer. I don't think I had it fresh, but it would have been interesting. Still a top notch beer of this style.

Poured from 1 pint, 9.36 fl oz bottle into glass. Bottled date on label is 'AUG 2015".
Hazy, dark orange colored body. Good carbonation but any head dissipates. No lacing.
Mild lemon and lacto aroma. Some wood barrel included.
As described, flavor is lemon and cider. Some wood barrel addition. Slight barrel spice
Totally fine pass through mouth feel.
Done well Berliner Weiss beer.

Purchased one year and four months after bottled. The flavor may have thinned with time. Still, refreshing.

750 mL bottle. Orange body. Medium white head. Smells of rye and lemon acidity. A little stone fruit. Tastes a little less interesting. Mostly tastes of rye grain. Wheat. Less tart than I thought, but a bit lemon. Medium carbonation. Light body. Good, but not interesting.

Apparent Horizon pours a lighter copper color with a small, but long lasting head. Strong fruity and dry aroma, like a white wine. Taste has a mellow sourness, and a very dry aftertaste. Great body and feel. Overall a very solid drinkable sour wheat beer.

Pours a huge, frothy white head. Amazing, fruity aroma. Hazy, straw color. Starts with an intensely sour front; spicy rye pops through with a touch of floral hoppiness, and the funkiness of Brett. The sourness subsides to let a little more spicy malt through into the finish, which is lingering rye malt with fruity sourness.

This is an interesting one. It's a straightforward Berliner, but with the distinctive spiciness of rye. I like it quite a bit, though it's been the least impressive of the series. I'm not going to drink much of it, as I tend to have an allergic reaction to brettanomyces.
