Very similar to a Belgian dubbel. Great beer for the warm summer days. Well made.

A good effort... but, show me the yeast !
This saison might be an experiment to prove that honey can replace the brewers yeast. If so, it does not.

Dry Honey Saison offers a pretty orange, but its Looks suffer from absence of foam after the pour settles. Smells are a bunch of fruit, but there is not a lot of malt yearning to be fruit much like a good Belgian yeast provides. Despite those criticisms, Tastes are pleasant; but probably lack the complexity to be a table beer that makes food tastes better... which is what I consider the biggest taste of a good saison. The finish is dry and the brewer's explanation (on the can) is good enough.

OA: I like Old Nation, but they have to re-think their venture into the Belgian tradition. There are reasons for a talented micro to start producing Belgians. and especially the Saisons... but make sure the yeast is right for the ingredients.

Pours a pretty orange with minimal head that disappears quickly. Aromas of fruit. Tastes of banana and spices with the honey coming through. Mouth feel is crisp and dry.

A - Pours a clear amber with a large foamy white head. The head recedes to a thin ring producing some very light lacing.

S - Aroma is banana, pear, wheat and honey.

T - The taste is banana, pear, clove, cracker, white peppercorn and honey.

M - Medium body with medium/low carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.

O - Pretty solid Saison. The honey adds a nice touch of sweetness to the flavor. Zero noticeable alcohol.

This just taste like a honeyed out Hamm's to me. I cannot shake the taste of it from my palate, it just has a sweeter finish without anything else. It is very refreshing and easy to drink much like my favorite macrobrew. This one just has that flavor profile almost distinctly Hamm's with honey.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/21/2019. Pours fairly hazy medium golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and slight wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a fantastic saison. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink, with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Fantastically well rounded classic saison yeast complexity; with a great balance of honey, pale/wheat malts, and earthy noble hops. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
