nice beer, one of the less aggressive and thus more drinkable ipa types ive had from great notion, thankful for the drinkability of this, as so many are kind of one and done almost novelty level beers due to their over the top dry hop intensity, this is more of a repeater, and i dig that. creamy white head on top of a not too dense straw colored hazy base, really high carbonation is evident and appealing in this style for me personally. the nose is great, popping freshness, nothing green or vegetal like some of them have, and with some uniqueness, juicy melon and coconut casting vacation vibes, sweet peach and apricot notes too, and plenty of juicy pineapple character, a good dose of citra seems evident, but there has to be more here. the flavor runs right along with the nose, layers of fruit on top of each other all the way. never bitter, never overdosed which is a change of pace for these guys, and there is nice separation between the phases, like its distinctly juicy citrus up front with tangerine leading, then its melon and guava tropical, and finally later its the stone fruit, really nice and rather long and complex when considered as a whole. i also like the grain frothing up the feel and making it soft, but staying dry, not too big in body, and out of the way in terms of flavor, some wheat or oats or both likely, but its not soupy and packed with starch either, so it finishes pretty fast and clean, especially for a hazy. the high carbonation is wonderful, the hop pungency without that green burn is great, and overall this is a real impressive beer. id love to try the double dry hopped version too, but suspect thats more in line with the great notion usual. im surprised this doesnt have higher ratings...

16oz canned mid-June poured into a pint glass, a hazy straw-colored liquid with full opacity and a generous white head. Snappy aromas of tropical fruit flesh and lemongrass, floral/green hop cone present with some citrus juice and grapefruit at the end, zingy finish with more bitterness than I expected, this is hoppy start-to-finish.

Intense jolly rancher / hard candy flavor. If that's your thing, you'll love this. It's not my thing. I don't get much Mosaic and the elements of El Dorado that I don't love are pushed forward.
