We made Grape Lotion for the Willamette Week Pro-Am competition. This event partners a home brewer (Dan Schlegel) with a pro brewer. Grape Lotion was fermented with 85 pounds of Oregon Chenin Blanc grapes, and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops.

S: White grape must. Grape skins. Pineapple. Dove milk soap bars. White pepper.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
T: Dry Riesling. Light pineapple. Grape skins. White pepper. Bitter grapefruit rinds.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
M: Medium-bodied. Pleasant, simmering carbonation. Creamy. Crisp. Refreshing. Slick.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
O: This beer pretty much tastes like they took a vat's full of white wine, dry hopped the shit out of it, and then refermented in the bottle. The name is pretty much spot on; my unsuccessful attempt at trying to pick apart the individual elements aside, it actually does smell somewhat like what a lotion with artificial grape aromas would elicit on the nose. One of the more enjoyable ProAm brews I've tasted this year so far.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

On tap at the brewpub
The beer pours a hazy orange amber color with good head retention and nice lacing. On the nose, this smells really nice, as I pick up considerable tropical fruit, white pepper, and underlying fresh grapes. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with some decent bitterness in the finish to buoy the sweet tropical fruit and grape flavor. The finish is dry and refreshing, with decent bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied at most, and the alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile (this beer is insanely drinkable). The beer finishes well and delivers plenty of flavor and bitterness.
Very easy to appreciate NE style IPA from GN.
