We have been brewing this flagship hazy since we started out on Alberta Street. The beer formerly known as Space Invader, these days it’s better known as Juice Invader. This one doesn’t have quite as many one off brands as Ripe does, but we have made plenty of Invader beers for all of you Southern Hemisphere hop fans. The hops of Australia and New Zealand just hit differently, and Juice Invader is a great example of that.

We use pale malts, oats, and wheat in the malt bill just like we do with most of our Hazy IPA’s. You need all of these gummy grains to create that silky smooth body that is oh so important in such a juicy beer. After we boil the wort, we add one of our favorite hop combos of Citra and Mosaic hops to the whirlpool. The citrus and tropical compounds from those hops compliment the full scale invasion of the Galaxy and Vic Secret that we use to dry hop with. We get a lot of tropical pineapple, passion fruit, and mandarin notes with a touch of cedarwood and pine.

Crowler from Rick. Haxy golden pour, small fizzy head disappears. Aroma is citrus and tropical, fruity. Taste mirros the nose, standard NEIPA fare, nice feel.

Invading the American beer scent, its the hops of down under that not only make the hazier styles but elevate them in taste. Vic Secret and Galaxy hops join the American Citra and Mosiac for an out of palate experience.

Lemony yellow and cast in a foggy gaze, Great Notion's Juice Invader builds a cottony white froth with a host of tropical, citrus, herbal, berry and melon aromas. As its sweetness graces the early palate, suggestions of shortcake, honeysuckle and agave provide a malty and cereal grain foundation.

As the cereal and malt sweetness stay steadfast through the middle palate, its doesn't impede the hops as they bring a bright and citrusy taste of orange, lemon and white grapefruit ahead of more tropical flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, papaya and kiwi. With a turn toward balance, the hops carry a late bitterness that registers smoothly on the late palate.

Medium bodied and malty-dry, the beer is nearly even-keel with a both a bitter and sweet interplay as the taste wanes and the mouthfeel becomes slightly sharper for a refreshing and palatable hop bomb of a beer.

Pours the color of orange juice, but slightly 'whiter', if that makes sense. Nose is full on citrus. Taste is also citrus, almost a grapefruit bite. Feel is only slightly bitter, more like the bitterness of grapefruit. Good beer.

On tap. Pale hazy yellow. White head with lace.

Juicy, tropical, dank, weedy, resiny. Has a bit of NE and west coast mixed in. Mango, papaya, and melon. Honeydew. Pretty soft. Very enjoyable.

Hazy, of course. Tasty right out of the can to the nose -- the aroma, not the beer. Layers of fruit, mostly mango, papaya and passionfruit with some pineapple thrown in for good measure. Great mouth-feel, carbonation is spot on as well. Light on the tongue, not sweet, with a clean finish. A really fine hazy, West Coast style.

Pale-straw haze in the glass, 16oz can from GN which recently landed in the 208. The name reflects the character of this one; very juicy, leaning southern Hemisphere with that stone fruity/white wine impression but also with a clean bitterness, mild grapefruit and resin.

poured from a 16oz can into a veil willi becher pint glass. pours a hazy light orange with a little over two fingers worth of soapy white head. dank and juicy on the nose. grapefruit, orange, slight pine resin, dank weed and mango. taste follows with a decently bitter hop bite on the finish. it’s still damn drinkable for 7%. medium-full mouthfeel; we’ll carbonated. solid IPA. so cool to be able to find these at the local liquor store.

Pours a hazy light orange with fluffy, soapy head.

Smell is fruity and juicy with notes of pine, grapefruit, peach, grass and pineapple.

Taste is fruity and juicy with a solid bitterness. Notes of pine, grapefruit, tea, peach, melon and a hint of sweet caramel.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and sticky, well carbonated.

Overall, an IPA that is more west coast than NE. Very good, either way.

Hazy yellow pour with a full finger of eggshell white foam, spotted lacing. Underripe citrus and overripe tropical notes with green leaning piney hops in the smell. Taste has the fruit more defined: starring grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, mango, and lemon, with a general cornucopia of fruit behind, finished with piney hops with slight dankness. Still, the juiciness does not stay full for long. Feel reflects this dynamic in the taste with more aggressive bitterness than most in the style, but moire notably, a thinner and less full body.
