done with cerebral in denver, a hazy double ipa type with guava. looks like the beer these guys both make on their own, chewy and dense and really cloudy, almost milky looking, starchy and thick, heady though from the can, neat art on the can, thankful to have had this shared with me by a new friend. the guava is surprisingly forward in this, and its cool to have this fruit not tied up with passion fruit and mango and passion fruit and all the stuff its normally put with, we rarely get to taste it on its own in a beer, so that part is fun. its obvious and real to me, ripe, and as tart as it is sweet, floral, light citrus and hibiscus notes too, and the hops are bold as well, all dry hopped it seems as there is hardly any bitterness when i taste it, but they have a ton of character that translates well to the flavor, some raw coconut, sweet orange flesh, and lemongrass to this, and the whole thing drinks lighter than it looks or smells like it should, no sign of its higher abv, its dry for being fruited, and has a great smoothness to it. more refined than it looks or than i expected it to be, especially for cerebral, the hoppy stuff always seems so raw. the hops are hard to identify with all this guava, but it seems southern hemisphere to me, complimentary and also tropical, well planned. i dont need more than say half a can of this, but its new school and trendy and it actually tastes good, so nice collaboration. better than other attempts to do the same thing that i have had for sure, the guava makes it mouthwatering.
