On tap the Alberta street brewpub the other day. Listed on the beer menu board as a TIPA.
The beer pours an opaque, hazy pinkish amber color with decent head retention and lacing. The nose is attractive as well, as I pick up considerable sweet orange citrus and tropical fruit. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with minimal bitterness in the finish. Unlike a lot of TIPA's, this beer is not overly sweet, syrupy or boozy, and in fact you'd never guess the abv. is 11% (would have guessed 7% or 8%). So mouthfeel and drinkability is where this beer really shines. Otherwise, mouthfeel is fairly full with considerable flavor, but it's not at all heavy or cloying on the palate, and the beer finishes well (clean with minimal bitterness).
Nice effort from the folks at Great Notion.
