Another ode to all the parents out there and our love of fruit beers. This kettle sour was fermented with ‘pantfulls’ of cherry, raspberry, and lime purée. Drink up now ‘cause it’s time to get your Jammy Pants on!

Copenhagen 16/1 2022. 47,3 cl can from Mikkeller webshoppen. Drawing of a guy in a pine forest wearing huge marmalade pants.
Pours opaque, murky burgundy with a mid-sized off-white head- A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet fruity lemonade odor with light tart notes. Ripe raspberry, cherries and currants. Popsicle and soda pop. Light whiff of lemon.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a medium strong tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry and fruity.
Sweet jam - but not overdoing it.

for being a resident of the northwest now, i really have not had very much beer from the highly acclaimed great notion. mostly hoppy stuff and flavored stouts too, so i was excited to get into a sour like this, modern, kettle soured, fruit purees i think, its like beer candy, what the kids are into these days i guess, not all that beery, but also pretty tasty if i am not being critical of the style itself and just taking in the beer for what it is. this brew is reddish pink, thick as a smoothie, murky and sedimented with high color saturation from the artful can. it smells great though, despite the heavy appearance, all three fruits quite evident, tartness from the lactic souring and the raspberries both, some tang to the cherry too, zippy zesty fresh lime cutting in as well, not too sweet to me, definitely on the absurd end of fruit additions. the flavor is also appealing, part of it is the souring is just right, mouthwatering without being caustic, clean and harmonious with the lime in here, not sharp at all, and without any real fermentation character beyond that. in a lot of ways its more like drinking a blender drink than a beer, but the flavors are good, the fruit is relatively natural in here, and this is right on trend. even though this doesnt tell me a whole lot about these guys as a brewery, its fun beer, especially in the summer, and it was cool to share the can with some new friends. i will dive into more of these as the opportunities arise...

Murky faded magenta with a thin white cap. Smells and tastes like a cherry limeade from sonic with tart raspberry and a whisper of cranberry. Feel is sneaky tart as it builds on the palate the more you drink it, thinner for the series, but still smooth with decent carbonation. One of the better in the series

Canned 3 weeks ago.
Pours hazy purple-red with a persistent off-white head.
The nose is tart lime, with jammy berry underneath.
The taste is lime and raspberry. Low to medium tartness and sweetness. Subtle notes of bitter lime rind. Wheat on the finish.
The mouthfeel is medium+ for the style. Opens near-full and finishes soft and clean.
Overall, very good. Lime is the dominant note, and it provides balance and keeps the beer from becoming too sweet. Fresh raspberry notes ride in middle-to-finish. I don't distinctly taste cherry, but it's probably melding with the raspberry.

16oz can poured into a snifter
Pours purple in color with a ruby hue, one finger foamy white head. Smells of sweet berries, mostly cherries and raspberries with a hint of tart lime. Tastes of jammy berries with a hefty mouthfeel, just a hint of tartness kicks in mid-palate with some lime kicking in. The finish gives more raspberry and cherry with just a hint of tartness on the linger.
