heater allen collaboration, as good as it should be, italian style pils, do these only exist in portland or what? every time i fall in love with the style again, its here, and then nobody anywhere else ever knows anything about it, but i love it. this is hoppy and unique with the motueka in it, but also crisp and classic and to some extent still very much european, i want more of this already. good clarity to this straw colored brew, clean looking but not too sparkly, holds its short white head, looks right. the nose here has some neat new world hops to it right away, floral at first, noble spicy yeah, but then also like sort of vinous, pear-like, and herbal, summery and good, fresh as can be, high mineral content to the grain in this, crackery and fresh, a little dough thing with the lager yeast, but quick and upbeat the whole thing, really lively and begging for spicy food, way cool. the taste has some melon, kiwi fruit, and jasmine to it, hops way up front and early in this even before they go bitter later, green apple, old world pils malt, snappy and crisping fermentation character, its dynamic, only halfway familiar, and really refreshing and drinkable for how flavorful it is. hign carbonation is just right for this. a new kind of pils, i wish there was more of this kind of thing around, or even just more of this particular beer in my life or fridge, super well executed, beautifully hopped, and easily standing out from the crowd. awesome stuff, even will outside the styles these guys are most well known for!

Clear golden body, crisp pilsner malt, big floral and very light citrus hop bite, fairly leafy. This follows the HA template very closely, but I like the nice slightly sweeter biscuit that balance things out a bit more than most HA. Medium body, good carb

Can from the source. Side by side with the Heater Allen PBS Pils.

A clear straw yellow with a dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is such a contrast to the PBS Pils. This is so soft, perfumey, floral, minty, with light lemon notes. Minimal malt character. The palate opens mildly bitter with lots of floral and perfumey hops so much so that it takes on a mild soapy note. Light and resplendent on the palate with a long, clean fruity and perfumey finish. Carbonation is high but creamy, lending a light acidity to go with the hops. Lovely.

Italian Pilsner collaboration with Heater Allen!!!!!!!!
Pours the typical pilsner light clear golden body with a rather impressive rocky, creamy off white head.
Aromas of white grape juice, hay and fresh white rolls.
Taste superbly balanced between the white grape and hay flavours. Getting some berries on the very end too.
Mouth feel is good for style. Maybe a tad under carbonated..but finishes well.
A nice 'Italian" pilsner, but to be honest expected more from these two.
