really solid stuff here, nice to have/see something other than a hazy ipa or a pastry beer from these guys, this is clean and somewhat classic, but also hoppy and modern and strong and inventive, i like everything about it, right down to the incredible label art, i should have bought more than one of them! its clear, basic yellow colored, massively carbonated and holding two inches of pillowy white head for the half hour or so it takes me to lazily drink the can. it smells fresh, crisp, and european at first, very bohemian style to me, bitter and grassy, doughy and crackery, earthy and dry, but then i also kind of get a more modern hop complexion, sweet lemon oil and honeydew, neat with the simple grain base, a little goes a long way, and this seems to stay in balance. the flavor is the same, but the hops start earlier, love the complexion here, a little lime, and ever so slightly soapy with the yeast, but in a good way, some nice flavor from this lager strain and crispness from the patient conditioning. awesome water chemistry, carbonation, and drinkability for being as strong as it is. i love the flavor, i cant even tell its pushing imperial range, and i think as a clean winter drinker, this is tough to beat. great execution on this, it makes me like great notion more...

it's alright, but the flavor does not cover the extra abv...
