Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden straw with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Zesty citrus, spicy grassy resinous notes, subtle tropical and stone fruit, crackery malt, and a fairly dry finish.
T: Grassy, citrus zest, lemon, lime, and grapefruit, spicy herbal notes, a little underlying tropical and stone fruit, mango, passion fruit, peach, and apricot, crackery malt, and a dry finish.
M: Light body, moderately lively carbonation.
O: Snagged a 4 pack of this one when I had a chance to swing by their spot in the former SN Torpedo Room space in Berkely. Grabbed it because 1) It still had the gorgeous older style label, 2) Citra and Motueka sounded like a great hop combo, and 3) I rather enjoyed Thumb Splitter and figured this might be fairly similar. Took a little while to open up beyond the citrus zest and grassy notes, but once it does you can find a pretty solidly flavorful West Coast session beer. I definitely prefer Thumb Splitter more, but on a hot day this would do the job.
