a west coasty one from these guys, still not perfectly clear, and still dry hoppy and juicy with held back bitterness, but a cleaner and lighter grain base that has a little bit of a pils malt thing going on, less of the wheat and oats and protein and density that i know them for in their hazy types, nice hop profile here too, fresh and vibrant beer, yellow in color, bright even without perfect clarity, frothy white head well over an inch high, peaky and lasting, looks right on! i smell melon rind, kiwi fruit, tart white grape, and lemon and key lime citrusy character, slightly grassy and herbal without the heavy dankness i expected from a west coast ipa. the flavor is similar, fruity up front, subtle mango and peach to me, champagne and some quick flashes of citrusy sweetness, later its gin, green tea, and some pithy bitterness but not crazy there, rather light on the grain side in terms of body but its got some flavor, crackery and balancing. as it warms i get some more obvious lime and lime lead from the galaxy, along with a dried floral softness not common in this type of ipa, really a nice hop complexion. some minerality, solid carbonation, and a quick finish even with some oils on the palate. clean and well refined, zesty and fresh, delicious! i am loving the plethora of great notion in the market right now, seems to be really taking of in idaho!

Continuing their invasion of the American beer scent, its the hops of the pacific northwest that not only make the bitter style but also elevate them its refreshment. Vic Secret and Galaxy hops join the American Citra for an out of palate experience.
Pale and lemony in color, Great Notion's West Coast Juice Invader builds a cottony white froth with a host of citrus, sprucy, herbal, tropical and melon aromas. As its sweetness skirts across the tongue, suggestions of honey, caramel, wafer and agave provide a crisp malty foundation.
As the malt sweetness steadily dissolve on the middle palate, it's hops bring a bright and citrusy taste of orange, lemon and white grapefruit ahead of more juicy and tropical flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, guava and kiwi. With a turn toward balance, the hops carry late bitterness that registers crisp, drying and resinous in taste.
Medium bodied and continuing to dry, the beer's bitterness wins out as the taste lingers into a dank, bitter, peppery and piney bitterness that easily outlasts any sweetness.

Pours very clear, with a light yellow hue to it. Head was very bright white. Nice lacing left over as well.
Nose is pine, pineapple, citrus. Taste was everything a great WCIPA should be, piney goodness with a citrus hints. Pretty dry initially, then across the back of the palate the bitterness builds.Very good WCIPA!
