Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours rich chestnut brown with a frothy beige head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Roasty earthy char, dark fruit, coffee, toasty bread crust, floral notes, a touch herbal and woody, mild spice, and burnt sugar.
T: Roasty, toasty, earthy char, fresh ground coffee, dark fruit, plum and cherry, floral notes, subtle herbal woody tones, mild spice, and a little burnt sugar.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp yet borderline creamy as it goes down.
O: I feel like black lagers are criminally underrated and this is a really solid one. Shame it's just a seasonal.

Look: As expected, pours a mahogany brown and looks black in the glass with a lofty beige head that noisily settles to a pillow and leaves nice lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly baked brown bread, roast, dark chocolate, toasted bread, and light earthy notes
Taste: Opens up with a slew of bready malt that brings dough, freshly baked, and toasted bread to the forefront and these begin to develop depth. Chocolate and roast slide in next and mingle nicely while earthiness pops in and out throughout until it closes with more bread and roast
Mouthfeel: Full but light, very clean, medium-high carbonation, and smooth and clean on the finish
Overall: This is some good stuff. Schwarzbiers are one of my favorite styles overall and I actively seek them out so knew this one was in the wild and scored it as soon as I saw it. It’s a tasty and well-made take on the style, checks all the style boxes for me, and is hitting the spot after my hike. Recommended

Brown opaque middle with more translucent edges for the pour, billowing tan head. In all aspects the roasty and cocoa notes are superb! Smell has a hint of vanilla and wet soil to accompany the dynamic duo, taste has chocolate, lighter roast coffee and dried out leather flakes. The texture is lighter but smooth and has good percolation and roasted tones, dries out through the sip

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, silky beige head. Roasty aroma, sweet, chocolate. Taste is roasty, bitter, notes of coffee. Nice lingering bitter bite.
