Pour at the 2026 Festival Of Dark Arts. 2025 vintage. Black pour, syrupy, slick. Boozy aroma, roasty, barrels, sweet. Cognac pops out in the taste, fruity, roasty, swet and boozy AF.

On tap at Belmont Station today. Another BA beast from Great Notion.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with very light lacing and not the best head retention. This beer is viscous and looks like a beer that has seen some extended barrel aging. The nose is attractive, showcasing considerable bourbon and dark chocolate, along with vanilla and light coffee. On the palate however, this is a complete mess. The beer is quite sweet, with flavors of prune, dark cherry, dark chocolate and noticeable bourbon. The flavors really aren't bad, but this beer is almost nauseatingly sweet (not unusual for a GN ba imperial stout). At least for me, this level of sweetness is simply way too much of a good thing. Mouthfeel is fairly full, but the excessive booziness is really off putting. Coupled with the over the top sweetness, drinkability is poor with this beer. Got an 8 ounce pour of this, and it's taking a while to get through it.
Interesting beer, but just not my cup of tea. Can't see myself ever ordering this again in the future.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
