triple dry hopped, should have known, but this is kind of gross, really undrinkable, oversaturated, and novelty level beer for all but the people who hate themselves, a really poor showing from these guys, this is just hop soup, way past reasonable on the hops, thick and starchy and heavy too, long and very green and harsh on the palate, not at all worthy of the anniversary occasion if you ask me, as its one of my least favorite beers ive ever had from this outfit, a shame, and the dudes i shared the can with thought the same. a little paler than orange juice, but equally thick, creamy headed and intriguing looking really, the color is nice, the uniformity is good for something this dense, and there is some amount of carbonation pushing through so its not totally stagnant as these can sometime appear at this level. aroma isnt bad, some greenness evident, grassy notes, lots of citra apparent, white coconut, peach, resin hit, strawberries that have been in the fridge too long, licking a battery but in my nostrils, some exposed alcohol, mucky grain, fresh enough, but just overdone to the point of absurdity, hop nuance is lost to pellet character, even in the nose, and its much worse in the flavor, electric in a bad way, hot, bitter and burning, almost chemical at this intensity, triple dry hopped should maybe have given it away, but i trust these guys and expected a more refined product, but this really is a mess. lemon and lime and pithy orange are there, peach and mango, its not hard to see what they were going for, but the execution is just whack, a mouthful of pellets, harsh like that, and lingering too, hop burps for days, oils on the tongue, like eating raw weed, some neat hop character is apparent, but its way overridden by the less nice parts of this. tons of body, feels heavy, stays with me too long, i had way higher hopes for this and didnt even finish my third of the can, really rough. fortunately, i had this in close proximity to a bunch of other great notion stuff and all of it was great, so more of an outlier here i think, but one to avoid, unless of course i got a weird can from too early or late in a run or something, hope thats the case. not for me this one...

Tap at Belmont Station. Colour is hazy (duh!) light gold with a huge white head. Nose is beaming with a heady mix of pine needles, pine pitch and tropical fruits. The palate is dry, tightly wound and tannic and has tons of sappy hops, crushed conifer needles, and loquat skins. The mid palate is moderately dry and has notes of dry field till and cut hay. The finish is long , fulfilling and gripping.
