Let me start by saying that this in not a NEIPA. Pours a dull burnished orange with a frothy, off-white head. Interesting nose, almost Bretty - earthy, herbal and some citric acid. Tastes like a Belgian IPA. Mouthfeel is light in body with an even carbonation and a mild astringency. Overall, nice complexity and drinkability.

Cloudy, whiteish gold color. Moderate and lasting head. Good streaks and minor spots for lacing.
Equal parts prickly and earthy making for an interesting combination. With concentration, I pick up a mild Belgian yeast component. (Note: the yeast comes from Norway.)
Rich bodied with a lower carbonation level. This beer has a stronger yeast presence than any other NE IPA I’ve ever had. The predominant flavor comes from the hop, black pepper bitterness. There’s a good malt start but it is definitely the tertiary flavor.
A friend described a “hole” in the middle of the tasting and on retrying the beer, I see what he means. While the swallow is usually the peak of a beer’s taste, this one creates a gully. The aftertaste actually increases the flavor intensity before fading.

NE IPA with soft, tropical and stone fruit juicy qualities, in a beer that drinks similar to a saison.
It’s more dry, there’s some spice, herbal, lemon/lime citrus and it’s a touch bitter. It stands out drastically from the other IPA’s tonight which frankly were decent, generic NE Style IPA.
