500ml bottle served in a tulip. Pours a deep, translucent mahogany with the a loose, tan-colored head that dissipates into a cluster to bubbles against the shoulders. Nose is decadent - aromas of figs, vanilla and toffee with notes of ethanol bringing up the rear. Taste follows nose - extremely rich and flavorful. Mouthfeel is medium in body with an almost still carbonation and an oily/sticky texture that lightly coats the tongue between quaffs. Really quite tasty, but I don’t see this holding up well for long-term aging. The subtlest hints of oxidation are beginning to creep in around the edges. That said, this is drinking great right now.

No bottled date, but I picked this up as a freshie, this one is gonna be hot
About a year ago I tried the base version of Wine Haus, and honestly it became one of my favorite beers ever, nearly cracking my top 10. This time around, they decided to lay it down in bourbon barrels for 15 months. I'm excited to see the difference that the barrels will make in this beast of a beer
Pours a very dark velvety brown with a finger of frothy tan head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
Man, right on the first whiff I'm reminded why I much prefer the English expressions of the style, even when coming from American breweries. I'm picking up on aromas of burnt brown sugar, black cherry, toasted pecan, chewy toffee, fig, brown bread, and a mild earthy bourbon
Oh boy. I didn't expect this, but this is actually a bit too heavy in taste, taking the beautiful yet delicate sweetness of the OG and turning it into something cloying. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting molasses, sweet vanilla, caramel, burnt oak, and toffee. The swallow brings notes of gooey caramel, sweet bourbon, sweet vanilla, cinnamon, and toffee
A full body pairs with gentle tingly carbonation, resulting in a beer that's smooth in all the wrong ways. Finishes sweet, but at least it's not overly sticky
It's a drag really, there was no bringing this back to a state of its awesome aroma. It fell so hard after that, a disparity of which I have not seen the likes of in a very long time. I still love and am loyal to LLB, but I'm not about this
