Darker caramel color. Clear. Solid, double poured head. It leaves a cross between blanketing and ring lacing.

Mild aroma of semisweet toasted caramels. Light but attractive.

Creamy body with minimal carbonation. Rich, fresh out of of the oven head flavor. Less sweet than the smell. Very true to the real ESBs of Britain -- without a lot of bitterness. This is a gentle and nuanced beer but still full of flavor. An excellent example for the style.

On-tap 1/8/2022 at the brewery in Providence, RI, served in snifter glass.

A: The beer is a bright golden-brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a decent lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, nuts, some hops and a touch of fruit.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character and a nice nutty flavor. Then some mild sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel a little bit of fruit. The hops presence is on-target for the style and complementary, providing a very good balance. The after-taste is bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Smooth and very crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean and dry.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, very good representation of style. This is a very solid beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.
