Tasted on tap at BJ's Brewpub, Albuquerque. Smelled and tasted like an IP that had been soured. The appearance was like a witbeir, with flavors and aromas like a soured IPA.

22oz bottle from Kelly's Liquor Barn (Santa Fe, NM). 9.99. No apparent bottling date. Served in a hotel plastic cup- keepin it classy while traveling.
Pours a hazy golden yellow with a finger and a half cap of white head. A snowy central heap of retention spreads to a full ring, leaving wide swaths of lacing. It's a beautiful brew, even in this plastic cup.
Nose combines tropical hops and sour fruit. Apricot, sour fruit pulp, melon and guava. I like it.
Tastes of apricot, sour melon, oranges, berry seeds, guava and a hint of bready malt. Really nice mix of fruit, tropical hops and a pleasant nip of sour.
Semi slick, medium feel with fluffy carbonation. Apricot, sour melon and oranges in the aftertaste.
Sour Dr Strangehop is a tasty and somewhat exotic blend of IPA and sour. Great move by Boese Brothers in adding apricots to the mix as it seems to serve as a bridge between the hops and sour. Glad I gave this one a try.

This is Dr. Strangehop done with apricot. Not as sour as you would expect, but the fruit flavor definitely punctuates the taste. Really refreshing and a future favorite for all!
