a tasty double dry hopped saison with some brett in it, almost a hazy ipa meets a wild farmhouse ale, not nearly as compelling as their machine language, which was a smashing success in my opinion, but in a similar vein, just a bit less refined, perhaps overly hoppy at the expense of some funky nuance, brewed in collaboration with funkwerks. the hop profile on this is great, southern hemisphere and juicy to the max in nose and taste, but i think its dominating, and much of the malt character and yeast complexity is lost to it, more new school ipa here than anything else. maybe some nelson or galaxy or wakatu or something in there, its tropical but different to me, delicious. the brett isnt as developed as in the machine language when i had it, but maybe its just newer here, less clean, but not stinky or anything, and not over pitched. excellent carbonation and dryness, unique fruity tones, lime and grass and guava or something, white grape, slight bite at the end too. fun beer, neat they got together with funkwerks, but its a little raw at it is right now. im glad to see these guys continue down this avenue, i think machine language is one of their best beers to date, and they are on the right track here again...
