L: black in the glass with a film of head
S: bourbon, honey, coffee, vanilla. Holy adjuncts well put together.
T: honey sweetness and vanilla throughout with a long honey bourbon finish. And plenty of coffee in the middle.
F: medium thickness unfortunately, sticky and coating. Super smooth and easy to drink.
O: this is an awesome beer!

Have had both out of the bottle and on tap; beer presents similarly from both.
Look: dark and syrupy, small head that fades quickly with minimal lacing; this baby looks thick.
Smell: tons of fresh coffee up front, you can tell the used a very high quality coffee; the coffee is followed by tons of honey and maple and lots of dark chocolate; slight sweetness on the nose too; the smell is so inviting with lots going on.
Taste: wow; follows the nose; lots of coffee up front, followed by honey and maple accentuated by the barrel; chocolate and vanilla are prominent as it warms; very sweet beer, but works very well; this is absolutely incredible; like a dessert beer.
Feel: thick, syrupy; quite simply one of the most viscous stouts I've ever had; money.
Overall: incredible beer; this is the fourth or fifth time I've had it, and the coffee is starting to give way slightly to some of the other favors; many will welcome that, as the coffee was very prominent early on; the beer is absolutely incredible; wow; can't wait to have again.

i should start by saying this is insanely good, among the best barrel aged stouts i can think of, and a shockingly different range of flavors. i have no idea how you honey soak a bourbon barrel, or what they even mean by that, barrel aged honey barrel? never heard of such a thing, honey bourbon? usually those are cheap and artificially sweet, i dont know, but the influence of the honey here is amazing. aroma and flavor sort of meld together, lots of chocolate, sweet and rich from the malt, the suggestion of chocolate, but also big and bitter from the nibs, sweet candied vanilla gives it an almost creamy element, while the coffee is mellow and fancy, espresso in the aroma, more of a cold brew toddy low acid concentrated thing in the taste, earthy and beautifully roasted, amazing with the dark grains and the barrel, which adds some definite bourbon notes, plays well with the vanilla in the later stages, and all this honey, which is floral and gooey and sweet, beautiful way to lighten up the otherwise enormous and dense brew. i am shocked how much the honey comes through, its not even close to all fermented out, and this tastes like some fine brittle dessert or something, but actually isnt all that sugary when its done. pillowy and huge, a body built up with a ton of grain, some toasted bready parts, a sweeter caramelized element, milk and dark chocolate, and the coffee, which lingers as long as the honey does. it tastes and feels mature, and it warms up brilliantly, with hardly any booze showing at all. this is monumental beer, a totally different flavor for a big barrel aged stout, and perhaps the way of the future. i was enormously impressed by this, especially for a brewery i knew so little about. this is like the next assassin or dark lord or something...

This stuff is bomb. Its a honey coffee stout with just the right amount of barrel. Sweet and heavy and you wouldn't want a lot but it is very tasty in moderation

Unbelievable beer. Dark as night pour, smell is out of this world coffee and maple smell, taste is similar with the sweetness from the honey coming through in a great way. Mouthfeel is what sets this apart from others, it's seriously the thickest stout I've ever tasted. Simply amazing.
