This is a blend of multiple different beers, barrel sizes and spirit types. We blended oat wine, spelt wine, rye wine, maple barleywine and imperial stout. Barrel types were a brandy hogshead, a calvados barrel, a bourbon barrel, a rye whiskey barrel and a few 15 gallon whiskey barrels.

Cuvee! Critters! And love me a 750ML Forager stout bottle. So classy. Probably adds $8 to the cost of the brew. Split with my wife.
Pour is dark brown with gilt red along the edges. Nose is big: hella caramel, malty sweetness, bourbon, rye. A lot to process. Ain’t going to get easier, I feel.
Critter Cuvee is intense. Alcohol lunges from the glass with a foreboding of future headaches followed by a stampede of sometimes conflicting flavors. If pressed I’d guess this was a barrel aged rye wine. Big rye spiciness stamped all over the initial burst with plenty of maple, caramel. Then the barrels arrive: more rye, bourbon, backed by a robust mouthfeel provided by what I can only assume to be a small farm’s worth of malts. Perhaps a touch of brandy, or that might be me licking the label. Big interest in drinking more of this.
It’s hard to produce a beer these days that you sip & say “Geez, I haven’t tasted anything like that before!” This is one of them. Thoroughly top shelf.

On tap. Dark brown ish color.
Has a lot going on. Molasses, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, oak, fudge, cake. Lighter than the stouts, but still full bodied. A bit rich. Dark dried fruits. Caramel.
Hides the abv well.
