Barrel Aged Imperial Porter

Our imperial porter has rested in barrels patiently, waiting for a grand unveiling. We meticulously layered this silky delight with desiccated fresh coconut, mountains of toasted coconut, roasted Ugandan cocoa nibs, Madagascar vanilla beans, and wood-fired cinnamon sticks from Vera Cruz, Mexico. We hope you enjoy our release of Barrel-Aged Pudding Goggles.

2023 bottle. Tan head. Thick, black color.

Cinnamon, fudge, coconut, brownies, charred barrel, oak, bourbon, vanilla. Cake batter.

This is thick, rich, dessert like, but fantastic.

Typically gorgeous black Forager 750ML bottle with golden goggles on the front; picked up from the brewery yesterday & split with my wife tonight.

Lightless black with a head that collapses into nothingness by the time the second glass is poured. It does have flecks of coconut floating on the top, which I always like. The nose brings brown sugar, vanilla, sweets, & mild booziness.

Puddling Goggles – Barrel Aged scarcely resembles the base beer I’ve had a few times. Still decadently rich & full, but the cinnamon is MIA (OK by me). Bourbon is quiet but present, leaking pleasantly into the folds of the palate backed by a big hit of sweetness, mostly vanilla, likely malt & cocoa as well, but less distinguishable. Towering over all of this & wound into it is coconut & more coconut. Pure, beautiful, coconut. This might be too sweet to drink an entire bomber of by myself, but I might take a bit of gum peeling to try.

Forager continues to have one of the best barrel-aged programs in the U.S. (though I wish they weren’t so aware of it – see the prices). The is a top-level, fantastic brew.
