Sleepy Eyes is a sour saision aged on 2nd use Minn. sour cherries and Minn. red raspberries. This wild saison is still which means there is no carbonation in the bottle. Juicy aromas of fresh raspberry cheery crumble bars open up from this ale at cellar temperature with a dry berry finish.

Working my way through some cellared items. On a snowy Saturday, a sour Saison seemed a good grab.
A - Pours a clear, dark maroon, a minimal pink-tinted white head that faded almost immediately, no lacing to speak of.
S - The fruit is out front, with tart cherry and raspberry melding into a pungently acidic nose, with just a hint of barnyard and earthiness.
T - The acidity of the nose is present and punchy, cherry flesh and raspberry juice are out front over a stronger, general sour hit, and just a bit of sweetness to lighten things through the middle, before the acidic bite crescendos in the finish, and a quiet fruit thread trails off, lingering nicely.
M - The stillness of the beer is not as disruptive as it can be in other styles, because the high acidity keeps the tongue well-scrubbed. Moderate weight, slightly slick in the finish.
O - Not your typical Saison, but delicious and ultimately satisfying nevertheless. I am not huge fan of still beers, but this illustrates how one can work successfully.
