Hazier than the storm that crashed the SS Minnow, this beer is a virtual volcanic eruption of Tiki flavors. A full-bodied, fruit-forward hazy IPA teeming with tropical flavors and aroma that will transport you to sunny, palm-lined beaches and luau-themed pizza parties. Doesn't really taste like beer. It has tropical notes with pineapple, orange/grapefruit in the taste. Aroma is tropical with a small head and looks like a light pilsner with a little darker color. Taste is fruity and refreshing. Rated 7-15-2021 30 IBUs

From: Trader Joe’s in College Area (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 30, 2021

Misc.: Collaboration with Pinthouse Pizza; No canned on date
Grabbed six singles and a 6-pack of Coronado Weekend Vibes at the campus Trader Joe’s on the way home from work. Boulevard’s website called this “Hazier than the storm that crashed the SS Minnow, this beer is a virtual volcanic eruption of Tiki flavors. You’ll want to tell the professor to re-up the coconut radio and invite all of your friends!” Mentioned hops were Ekuanot, El Dorado and Azacca, and in the dry hopping Strata, Citra and El Dorado.
Poured a medium gold-to-light amber semi-hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy-to-fizzy white head, which dissipated quickly. Just a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Decent watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled pretty damn good right away. In order got pineapple, mango, coconut, peach, guava, orange, tangerine, melon, stone fruit and papaya. Definitely got the El Dorado and Sabro, and I think some lesser Ekuanot and Strata. Almost as good out of the can with candied tropical fruit punch coming in. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste was a bit letdown from the smell. Just didn’t work for me. In order got sugary pineapple, coconut, mango, guava, orange juice, tangerine, peach, passion fruit, El Dorado, melon, papaya, mixed fruit cup, Sabro, vanilla, all-spice, lime, and lesser Azacca and Strata. It did get a little better each sip. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, sugary sweet finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Back and forth here. Going in I thought I wasn’t going to like it that much, but the smell was so damn good. After a brief letdown on the taste it got better each sip. Very good overall. (Overall - 3.75)

Look: Very Hazy mango orange color
Smell: smells amazing! very intense smells of pineapple, mango, fruit punch. Seriously, the smell is absolutely wonderful
Taste: Honestly, first thought is this tastes like a mango mimosa. Like the best mango mimosa ever. Mango, orange juice, pineapple, just the faint hint of hop rind flavor, very sweet
Feel: Full body feel with low carbonation
Overall: Hmm, not exactly a beer and amazing nonetheless. Like the best mango mimosa you've ever had!

Boulevard Brewing Co. "Pint Sized Hawaiian Pizza Party Tiki IPA"
16 fl. oz. can coded "L05272107:24 24 SEP2021"
Notes via stream of consciousness: This beer, according to the label, has pineapple, mango, and vanilla beans added to it. It's poured a very hazy, and even cloudy, dark golden/orange body beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma is intense. It's loaded with pineapple, papaya, and mango, as well as orange and apple. I'm not finding any maltiness, but how could it possibly get through? The taste follows suit with some added peach and it's sweetish, lightly acidic, and loaded with tropical fruit. It tastes a little bit like a maraschino cherry, and in all honesty it's more like a tropical fruit cocktail than it is a beer, but to a certain extent I'm OK with that. It's sweet but it doesn't finish sweet - how, I don't know. The papaya, mango, and pineapple bomb covers everything and, again, it's not like a beer but the taste is just sooooooo good. My question then becomes 'how many of these would you want to drink in a row?'. Well, given my affinity for tiki drinks I have to say that I would drink a few of these, but would other people? It is really sweet and tropical upfront so I don't know. Looking back, the head didn't hold up very well, and it didn't leave any lace behind which is odd for such a sweet beer. In the mouth it's medium bodied and dextrinous with a median, fine bubbled carbonation. I honestly don't know what to make of this. Is it a dessert beer? It certainly could be. Is it an IPA? Certainly not. Would I buy it again? Yeah, probably.

Take this review with a grain of salt. I love this brewery, and this is the only beer from them ive disliked. The mango is just the type of mango flavor that i cant stand. If your into the mango flavor, youll probably like it, but its just not my cup of tea.

Pours a nice neon-orange with a slight head. Lot of lacing on the glass when you swirl, an attractive pour. Aroma is a little slight: fruit, flowers, cream, not dank at all, nor overpowering.
The taste is why you're here. It's very citrus-y, the pineapple and mango sweetness first, very little in terms of hops, pine, or bitter. Quickly after the sweetness is a kind of stark vanilla bean which isn't blending the way they may have wanted. Throws it off a bit by not blending. There's a lager undercurrent here, not a traditional IPA feel, with a ton of fruit thrown at it.
With that name it approaches being a novelty beer. Easy to drink, sweet isn't sickly or "fake" as some of these pineapple bombs can be. Not sure where the "pizza" comes in. As it warms, assuming it lasts that long in your summer glass, the rough edges round off or that could be the 2nd pint kicking in.

This was quite the surprise. Had a can by chance at Tropicali in Big Bear, CA of all places. I normally don’t like super fruited beers, especially fruity IPAs, but this is a serious fresh tropical fruit bomb. It literally feels and tastes like a smoothie, which I guess is where the style is going. Massive flavor and seriously enjoyable without being too sweet or overdone.

Dad copper colored with a very hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering a third of the top. The aroma is a complex medley of pineapple, mango, citrus, and vanilla. I’m tasting mango, citrus, pineapple, and vanilla. The mouth is resinous and moderately carbonated.

terrible name, like who are we here, evil twin? do they not have a monopoly on long winded names like this, especially for beers that literally are not ipa types at all, i mean come on, but come on for this too, its dry hoppy fruity at best, but so bastardized with cheap popsicle type fruit flavors to the dome that it cannot even scare ipa as a style, even from the most generous out there (at least i hope not). nothing pizza part about this to me, does cheap tropical fruit puree in the mango vein and a heap of vanilla scream pizza? maybe in some vacation destination with bad pizza that i have never been to, sure, but this is fake orange, papaya, melon, and generic citrus candy, meeting a little vanilla and honey yogurt, in a real full body that doesnt do anything for a real pizza party, better off dry spicing this with cup pepperoni! so sweet, so thick, woefully under carbonated, lots left to be desired in terms of execution, and its grossly fruit. i remember the days of double wide and grainstorm and the sixth glass, what a brutal fall from grace this is compared to those. perhaps boulevard is done, another cool and relevant and sizeable brewery reduced to gimmicks in the name of international profit margins. sad if its true, this beer does nothing to alleviate those fears, so stupidly sweet i want to hurl. also, calling this an ipa is insanely offensive, it just isnt...

The look and feel is typical, orange, tropical, grapefruit. For taste the vanilla is way too strong up front for me. I would consider this a specialty beer if anything. I’ve enjoyed vanilla beer before but this does not do it for me.

Pours a slightly hazed gold with a pinky of beige head. No head retention or lacing
S: Oranges, guava & pineapple
T: Sweet oranges & guava, plus a little pineapple & vanilla up front. A little dryness goes with tropical sweetness as this warms, plus a little orange creamsicle. Finishes with passion fruit, guava, sweet oranges & vanilla
MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, skews sweet,, but I believe this was what they shooting for
Drinks so easy, loving the flavor profile
