12 oz can from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA The ale poured a very hazy light amber with a white foamy head that poured out of the can before I could get it in the glass. The aroma of Belgian yeast, and tropical fruit, You taste much more flavors of Belgian yeast, tropical fruit, and citrus. The ale has a medium body and average carbonation. I am not a fan of the Belgian yeast.

AROMA: Moderately sweet with strong scents of pine, mango, and "dank", which is then followed by just a wisp of biscuits at the very end. The aroma is very pleasing and nothing like what I expected based off of the beer's description. The "dank" definitely comes out after the beer has warmed a bit. Which I enjoy, as it helps to balance out the somewhat-strong pine scent.

APPEARANCE: Pours a very hazy, medium-orange with a coarsely frothy, 3-finger, white head that dissipates very slowly with excellent lacing. Dissipation is so slow, in fact, that I've finished almost half of the beer and there is still a small head floating on top. Amazing!

TASTE: Moderately sweet with moderate flavors of pine, and mild flavors of mango and orange. There is some "dankness" in the finish, but nowhere near the amount I expected based off of the aroma.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-bodied with a soft, ever-so-slightly rough texture. The finish is mildly dry and the carbonation is fairly lively (i.e. above average).

OVERALL: Well, this beer turned out to not be what I was expecting, at all. Which, in this case, is a good thing. While the pine and dank are aromatically dominant, they are much more evenly balanced when it comes to the flavor. Usually I am not a fan of beers whose aromas don't match up with their flavors. But in this case, I find myself very much liking the differential between the two. The aroma and flavor are not overpowering nor are they too muted. And the body and appearance are quite pleasing too. Honestly, I don't really have anything negative to say. For me, it is just a pleasing beer on all fronts. Is this the best beer that I've ever had? No. But it is definitely going in my rotation of beers that I buy frequently throughout the year.

12oz can with a best by date of 9-16-24. Opened 8-11-24.
2 finger off white head with excellent retention. Orange-gold with limited clarity. Full, sticky lace.
Yeasty, perfumed nose. Grass. Citrus.
Stone fruit, citrus, melon, yeast, zesty flavors.
Medium plus body with medium carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. Lengthy and flavorful finish.
This is a beer I'd enjoy regularly or would love to brew..tasty, flavorful and scratches 2 itches - 'Belgian' and hoppy.
Very Good.

Somewhat hazy bright gold color with a large, persistent head. The nose is actually a little disappointing, a little faint, but still interesting: resinous, citrus hops, with some distant phenols. Excellent flavor, though! Hops are on display of course, but it's got a delicious fruity yeast character, along with a fair amount of yeasty spiciness. It's really not too bitter at all, though the malt character is restrained. Finishes more neutral than dry. Very good Belgian body too: this is not a heavy beer at all, despite the strength. Boulevard really shows off skillful brewing in this beer!

An interesting product line Boulevard has developed here and with some pretty sophisticated marketing. I bought 2 Dank in a sampler pack of Tank 7 and the newbie Tropical 7. They call it a Mix Pack and offers a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, which probably is new territory for crafters. (You decide if this is a breakthrough or a setback.)

Dank Looks a decent pale with solid foam and it sticks around. Smells indicate lots of attention has been paid to blending the hops into a citrus/piney melange. The attack of Tastes is not so much the problem as my after-taste which is too cloying. A good Belgian yeast fills my mouth medium.

I am still an undecided voter if I will drink the second can of Dank.
