Aluminum can from a mix-pack. The beer itself pours a crystal clear gold color. The head is white and wispy, but it quickly falls and dissipates. The aroma has a grain and grass note, nothing special, with maybe a distant hop scent. Slightly sweet adjunct-like corn taste, mixed with light malt. Medium-light in body. Not as flavorless as many other American Lagers, but still fairly uninspiring.

BLVD '89 Lager pours a clear golden color with a small, long-lasting, lacing head. The aroma has notes of corn and a hint of chemicals. The flavor is sweet, with a nice mellow, creamy corn-like finish. GOod feel. Overall, a solid lager, sweet.

This is Boulevard's take on the "craft lager" trend that is catching on everywhere. Great on a hot day, very light and refreshing, but not a ton of flavor like a pilsner or hefeweizen that you might opt for instead. It's better than most pale lagers, just not that exciting. Good take on the style if nothing else.

Looks and smells like a typical American lager, pours clear with a slight head that dissipates rapidly It tastes good, but is really light and only has 4.5% alcohol. This is something for the mass market, but a bit light for me. I appreciate that it tastes better than most light beers, but that is damning with faint praise. All in all, I would happily drink a bunch of this, but there are better choices out there if I am thirsty for a lager.

12oz bottle. Poured out a crystal clear, straw-yellow color with a small, thin head of white foam. It left no lacing to speak of. It smelled of caramel, bread crust, floral notes and some citrus. Sweet caramel taste with toffee and a very mild bitterness.

Clear golden color with a moderate but lasting white head and some decent lacing.
The aroma is light sweet malt, fresh bread and some herbal hops.
The taste is the same, slightly sweet malts up front balanced nicely with some herbal/floral hops. Very tasty.
The body light/medium, good carbonation level, smooth and very inviting to drink.
Altogether. this is a very nice, mellow, refreshing brew, great for a day at the ball park or just entertaining in you backyard.
