Adding to the fruity, spicy allure of their original saison-styled ale, Boulevard adds a holiday twist by adding cranberry for elevated fruit and spice.
Cranberry Tank 7 pours rusty mauve with a bubbly golden-straw appearance and an arid tall froth before shedding a scent of orchard fruit, red berry and citrus with a nearly tangy, spicy counterpart. Dryly sweet, the early impressions trend bready, honey-like and fruity on the tastebuds. Pear, apple, orange and grapefruit are all met with generous cranberry additions for a fruity twist on an otherwise spicy style. White pepper, clove, hay and lemongrass provide a balance and aid in a drier, crisper finish.
Medium bodied and shifting the balance from spice to fruit, this berry take on the farmhouse style is a nice departure from the original but isn't necessarily an upgrade.

Rated 12-15-2024 Had this beer last night. Pours a reddish/orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is berry, cherry and fruity with underlying notes of cranberry. Taste is tart berry with a strong cranberry finish that lingers on the taste buds. Interesting beer. First taste was an odd flavor but the more I sipped it, the better it tasted. BOD 5-28-2024.

Poured from can into tulip, good tight 1 finger cream colored head, great retention and lacing. Rosy hazy golden in the glass, somewhat cloudy to look at. Big Tank 7 yeast on the nose with some underlying tartness. Taste is classic Tank 7 yeast, some phenols and then the merging of the base beer and cranberry come thru. I will admit first 2 sips the middle was mudlled and I was thinking that this was a bad idea, with the finish always delivering a very clean cranberry note. But after that point things smothed out and I really started enjoying this. The residual cranberry on the finish seems to tame down the harshness I was getting on the first few sips. I quite like it and would buy it again, especially around the holdiay season, totally missed it this year and just recently found a single can on the shelf.

I've been a big Tank 7 fan for many years, but this version just isn't right for me. It looks good, rosy with a little head. The taste is where I get off the train. It's just a little odd. I really love Tank 7, and I'm a fan of cranberries, but somehow the combination isn't working for me.

this is really great, unexpectedly good even, i always worry when breweries mess with the classics, but this really hit for me, as good a christmas type beer as ive had in awhile, but i would drink this thing any day of the year, really cool twist, magic on tap. sexy flamingo pink color, softened by light haze and with a pure white airy belgian looking head in the glass, high rising and long lasting, this looks wonderful. the nose on this is cool because its a little more tart from the fruit addition, but is not so fruited that the fermentation nuance of the classic is compromised, still lightly funky, estery, spicy, even bretty when i let it be in my mind, super rustic, dialed in but not like annoyingly refined, the cranberry is real, lightly tannic, and really the perfect choice for what tank 7 already is. the flavor agrees, not over fruited and no sweetness from it at all, white pepper and white tea, dried pink florals, lemon at the end but this isnt sour at all, and somehow the alcohol is invisible. spirited carbonated, neat warming spiciness when the temperature comes up, exotic but festive still, and so different for this time of year. i forget how great this beer is on its own, and this is a cool reminder of that. one of the best reimagined classics i can recall ever knowing. they nailed this, and i hope to drink a fair bit more of it before the holiday season runs out. not to be missed, awesome flavor and texture, still true to the original. thankful for this.

Light tasting, especially considering 8.5% alc/vol. Delightful berry taste - would recommend this to someone who is hesitant to try craft beers or who likes berry flavors without it necessarily being a sour

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden color with amber highlights and a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of tart cranberry, yeastiness and some spices. It really doesn't taste anything like Tank 7, just lots of cranberry tartness. No funk.

Clear pinkish orange color with a respectable pinkish head and some nice lacing.
The aroma is dominated by cranberry with a bit of citrus and funk around the edges.
The taste is also very much into the tart cranberry thing with lemon and grapefruit, light malt and peppery notes in the finish, tasty.
The body is medium, moderate carbonation, fairly smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a nice seasonal variation, getting in the mood for the holidays, although I think I prefer the original for regular drinking.
